Chef Andrew Meek began his dream on November 6, 2000, when the doors
of Sage opened to the public in Windsor Heights. After working with
several renowned chefs across the nation, Chef Meek moved to Des
Moines to open Sage, The Restaurant.
Recently published in the Datebook as a 5 star restaurant, Andrew
has accomplished many of his personal goals for the restaurant,
but continues to strive to make the restaurant a unique and contemporary
experience for Des Moines. Having one of his dishes published in
Nations Restaurant News as 'Dish of the Week', and being recognized
in other publications such as Cooking Light, Chef's Magazine, The
Des Moines Register and Better Homes & Gardens Pasta Cookbook,
Andrew continues to establish himself as a recognized figure in
the culinary world.
Sage offers inventive seasonal cuisine prepared with fresh ingredients
from local growers and seafood flown in from the source. Integrating
locally grown products into his menu creates a new appreciation
for the exceptional products Iowa has to offer. Separating Sage
from the rest of Des Moines restaurants is Chef Meek's ability to
bring 25 years of restaurant experiences to a staff that largely
has been with him since the front doors were opened over four years
ago. Ever changing menu selections have given the intensely loyal
clientele of Sage a high level of trust that Chef Meek will continue
to over joy them with unique and elegant culinary dishes.
Chef Meek feels privileged everyday to create with the earth's abundance
and enjoys the challenges it brings. He continues with his innovation
and dedication to his culinary pursuits.
